In the end, Carrie herself isn't even sure what she's done, and there's something that feels right about Homeland ending on an arc about Carrie's mental instability being possibly used as an asset for foreign enemies.

The show is doing another of its now-infamous resets, but instead of finding a new setting (the way they did for Berlin, New York, and so on) they're circling back to old themes. I don't think that's an accident.
