There is much to unpack about systemic misogyny and the dismissal of women’s stories and the crimes against them, but Love Con Revenge is more interested in action than attitudes or the reasons behind them. Go to Full Review

It's harrowing stuff, but like many unscripted true crime shows, many key moments feel staged. Go to Full Review

Do the hosts’ talking head portions often feel badly scripted? Is it often awkwardly formulaic? Yes and yes and yes. But the heart of it is real investigative work that really hands back some level of agency and dignity to the victims. Go to Full Review

We like seeing the scammers that are being investigated in Love Con Revenge held responsible for their cons. But the production values of the series really make it hard to pay attention to the cases themselves. Go to Full Review

...I think it’s safe to say that Love Con Revenge will be a guilty pleasure for many. Especially fans of true crime documentaries like The Tinder Swindler. And the cases covered in the six episodes of season 1 are pretty damn brutal. Go to Full Review

Patricia B @PatriciaBruni Jan 18 Loved this show! I don't understand the bad reviews. If the bad reviews are because of a lack of drama well duh they aren't actresses! Hope to see many more episodes! See more David W @InvestigatorDavid Jan 4 This is by far the most amateur docuseries of all time. Super cheesy and zero evidence for most of the cases. It's a hate-watch show. Recommend it to people you don't like. See more Josef G @Jimmygoombas Nov 19 It can feel at times contrived and overly rehearsed like a reality tv program, but the real stories and con men at the center are sooo fascinating and disturbing that it makes up for the occasional awkwardness. The private investigator is the real star of the show, and watching her track down and confront these men is extremely satisfying to watch See more Matt L @Chubbski Oct 19 The absolute worst, most contrived, documentary I’ve seen in awhile. The two women (who are making money off this) spout such rehearsed conversations and emotions and empathy it’s sickening. You want to do some good? Do some good outside of the camera. The irony is they make a show about people scamming people, and have sensitive, impactful conversations with people on the camera to make money for themselves. Those people get paid? Or you making money off them? Hell…they don’t even get resolution for two of the individuals and gloss over it (nice job forcing the emotional “resolution” for them - gotta fill that six episode quota after all so make it work). Where’s the “revenge” when someone doesn’t punish the criminal? Worthless and more soap opera than true life. See more Maggie H @maggiemac Sep 17 This show had great potential, after the success of The Tinder Swindler. Unfortunately it really doesn’t live up to the hype. There are pros and cons here. The camaraderie between all of the women is touching. The stories are interesting. Hopefully it sheds some light on how these fraudsters work, and how even seemingly savvy people can fall victim to them. But the biggest frustrations with this show are the amateurishness and unprofessional behaviour going on (oh Ricky ran away and the cops couldn’t find him? Perhaps because you LITERALLY TRACKED HIM DOWN TO FILM HIM INSTEAD OF GOING TO THE POLICE?!?! What is this, Catfish?!). The cringeworthy, fake phone conversations are almost too much to bear. Netflix really does miss the mark as often as they hit it, these days. See more Curtis F @RT51069081 Sep 14 honestly don't know where to start with this. The primary host is presented as some expert even speaking about psychology she clearly has no understanding of when in reality she's just someone who fell for a scam. The private investigator? She doesn't seem to understand the law at all, calls up people and says "I'm investigating this person" with zero clue if the recipient of the call is friends with the target (which could expose her), and tails cars by following them in U-turns, parking lots, etc while wondering "Do you think he spotted us?" Several guys on the show are clearly unpredictable criminals. Which also makes it nuts that they're taking these women to confront them face to face when they should be calling the police. They tracked a guy who was a fugitive from justice, and instead of calling the cops, they went to yell at him (tipping their hand and potentially giving the target time to flee). Even worse? It's the misleading crap and leaving information out. Throughout the series, the show presents claims that are in no way verified. It's like they took every "case" that came their way, and when stuff started to look sus, they kept going and just left out info. For instance, another Redditor looked up the clinic from the Dr. Wilkerson episode and discovered that the victim was heavily involved in the practice with many of the complaints over the years specifically mentioning her behavior. And while we're on that episode, the "victim" dropped her civil suit? And she's facing charges for filing a false police report? And even though there's a claim that the guy opened fake accounts in the daughter's name (a clear crime that would result in arrest), there's been no charges filed? And Netflix didn't feel like showing us evidence of those alleged fraudulent accounts? Even worse, the "after story" text at the end of the episode was up for mere seconds. I'm not into conspiracies, but it's almost like they didn't want us to read the additional info that cast doubt onto the entire story. Leading up to the Dr Wilkerson episode, I was already a little irked by the show. Even when it was established that there was no evidence of crimes, the hosts would say things like "At least he's been exposed." Been exposed about what? That an ex partner is saying negative stuff about them? Stuff you completely didn't prove, not even enough to support a civil lawsuit (which isn't a high evidentiary standard)?
