While the show does take liberties with historical facts, it certainly give us the opportunity to pull back the curtain on political power, and get a small taste of El Turco’s whims, his private struggles, and his triumphs and mistakes. Go to Full Review

The series makes clear that it has no interest in create a narrative that accurately retells the events (...) Perhaps this explains its primarily satirical style; however, as the episodes progress, the comic tone diminishes, becoming darker and murkier. Go to Full Review

Unless you have a keen interest in Argentinian politics, Menem doesn’t really provide enough of a story to hook people unfamiliar with the country’s recent history. Go to Full Review

Ariel Winograd knows that the series' main attraction lies in its private portrait of Carlos Saúl, and he focuses the production on that approach. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Winograd, in this case sharing creative responsibility with showrunner Mariano Varela, achieves another great period portrait...and once again brings out the best in his talented performers. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

See more Read all reviews
