It's talk heavy, slick, Fincher crime adapted awesomely for the small screen.

Under the direction of Fincher, there is an unshowy, meticulous cinematic quality that draws you in, irresistibly, to its pale-brown world of desk jobs and smoky cinemas.

The show's at its most absorbing when it's spending time with monsters...

Most TV crime dramas are whodunits. Columbo famously reversed things by starting with the murder, and making it a "How'd he get him?" Mindhunter, in contrast to both those approaches, is all about motive. It's a "Whydunit."

Mindhunter, like Ford, is an odd duck, but oddness is its virtue.

Sometimes it's funny. Often it's chilling. But however you take it, at least "Mindhunter" is working a fresh angle.

David Fincher has made two great episodes, leaving his mark but without cannibalizing the proposal. [Full Review in Spanish]

There has never been a more timely release date for a show about why men do the terrible things they do, or a better time to watch men work backwards, trying to figure each other out, saying what women already know.

Mindhunter is one of the most addictive Netflix series so far. [Full review in Spanish]

It is incredible how a serie can trap you just with dialogues.

The cinematography and sound design is alright. It's okay. The definition of mediocre. Having watched episode 1, nothing about it stands out, no particular scene beyond the one near the beginning with the fridge lighting against dark apartment is even close to being noticable or good. The writing, in my opinion, is terrible. This show is full of great concepts and executed poorly. The cast diversity is almost none. The chemistry between main character and the love interest seems non-existent to me, and their conversations were terribly awkward not only rightfully on part of the naive and confused Ford, but also on the love interest being confusing and unreadable. What do the scenes show? So far, I've seen nothing but telling. It tells you things are happening but as a viewer nothing substantial sticks. The delivery is as emotional and lively as reading off your index card during your class group presentation before Spring Break. All-in-all I would say that if you do not care about watching something good or interesting or challenges you in any way, can regularly turn your brain off for a show whose purpose is entertainment but personally has disinterested so wholly that I cannot bear watching past the first episode of awkward turn-off dialogue, and don't mind the unnecessary sex scenes, watch it. But for anyone that has taste and half an inch of standards I cannot in good and honest conscience recommend this show at all. This is not a good show. But it IS a show, and it is not badly shot-- It just doesn't stand out, and if the writing, pacing, second-hand embarassment-inducing character interactions can't be carried by the other aspects of a show, then it just isn't that good of a show. Disclaimer: I have only watched episode 1 and will only be watching episode 1 unless I've found convincing arguments that it gets better in any substantial way, so perhaps it does get better and the beginning of Season 1 is simply wholly uninspired. But if no sane person continues to watch a show that they've found no joy from the first episode, then I shan't as well. I was only drawn to this show because of the promise of a drama/thriller series focused around FBI agents focusing on the psychologies of murder and serial killers and the like, attempting to understand or unravel not just who did what, but also why. This was not it. I had rather low expectations because I chose to watch it on a whim with no recommendations and the show & the show's episode summaries are one-sentence, but I was still disappointed, especially after having watched better shows of similar concept like Ransom (hostage negotiation focused on the criminals, their motives, their psyches, and has interesting varied cast members) or Elementary (although more focused on whodunnit and howdunnit, well-shot and has plenty of interesting characters with great, visible, TANGIBLE character development unlike Holden Ford's flip-flop stagnant self where nothing changes or is reflected upon despite his sudden giving-in to crime by the coaxing of his love interest, namely accomplice to drunk-driving and drugs despite literally being FBI and not arguing against doing obviously illegal things past one or two lines.)

Sophisticated and absorbing. Season 2 even more so, as we get to know the characters on on more intimate level

In the levels of True Detective S1, Mindhunter is an achievement in Drama / Crime Series and solidifies David Fincher as a master in the genre

Good show. BUT get more people of colour in it!!! Ridiculous!

i don't know what is the purpose of this too much +18 scenes, you disturbing us while watching and concentrate on the story.

Mind boggling methodologies and horrendously straight implications makes you go bathed breathe. Truly impeccable in every possible way🤟

Well done but too disturbing for the sensitive Blobbo.
  • Jul 12, 2019
There is no need to have many sexual scenes.

The cinematography and subtlety of the character building, especially in Holden, was absolutely fantastic and reeled me in from the first minutes. It is a breath of fresh air in a genre swarming with poorly made humdrum "whodunit" series's.
