It's talk heavy, slick, Fincher crime adapted awesomely for the small screen.

Most TV crime dramas are whodunits. Columbo famously reversed things by starting with the murder, and making it a "How'd he get him?" Mindhunter, in contrast to both those approaches, is all about motive. It's a "Whydunit."

Mindhunter, like Ford, is an odd duck, but oddness is its virtue.

Sometimes it's funny. Often it's chilling. But however you take it, at least "Mindhunter" is working a fresh angle.

David Fincher has made two great episodes, leaving his mark but without cannibalizing the proposal. [Full Review in Spanish]

There has never been a more timely release date for a show about why men do the terrible things they do, or a better time to watch men work backwards, trying to figure each other out, saying what women already know.

Mindhunter is a mesmerizing and haunting tale as we watch engaging characters get inside the heads of serial killers.

May 16, 2019 | Rating: 9.5/10 | Full Review…

Mindhunter expertly satirizes a now well-worn crime genre, in which the solver of crimes takes center stage, rather than the crimes themselves, or their victims.

One of the best shows I've seen since breaking bad. Beautifully filmed, sensational acting and intense and well driven story.

I had not even heard of this show until a co-worker recommended it. I am so glad he did. This show is really smart and insightful look into how the FBI began profiling serial killers. Also, it has the looks and sounds of the late 70's nailed!

Beautifully done. No more to be said

I feel like the name of the show is just a little misleading, in a sense that, when you hear "mindhunter" you'd imagine series of criminal events taking place where there are lots of intelligence involved in order to solve that 'mystery/crime'. It's not quite like that. The storyline is slow, in fact, it's almost like a life-story of an fbi agent. Regardless, it's decent show. I am excited for season 2, as most people agreed to be better than the first season.

Mindhunter Season 1 9.7/10 This week I got sick, so I did what all self-respecting Americans do- go to work, slog through the work day, then get home and nestle in to watch some Netflix the rest of the time. I've had friends telling me to watch this show for literally over a year, and boy am I happy that I finally listened to them and did. First of all, it is so extremely odd to see Jonathan Groff of Glee and musical fame to be playing a main character on a dark crime drama, but he absolutely kills it in his role as Special Agent Holden Ford of the FBI and is excellent. This show is loosely based on the Behavior Science unit of the FBI in the late 1970s that started to interview serial killers in order to compile data and profiling to prevent and solve these types of crimes. Holt McCallany does a good job as Ford's partner Bill Tench, and Anna Torv is the secret weapon of the show as Dr. Wendy Carr. The intelligence level of this show is off the charts, it could possibly be the intellectually smartest show out right now. The sophisticated, sleek style of the exploration of the human mind is the anchor of the show. Imdb defines the show as, "They acknowledge classic crime-solving - MMO - as no longer sufficient because criminality is becoming more complicated as Motive graduates from need and greed to inexplicable and irrational reasons. They theorize applying deeper psychological evaluation through visiting of the sociopathic mind will posit new questions." I would wholeheartedly lean with this definition. Now look, this is not for the weak of heart. Some of the discussions with serial killers are psychologically bending, and the descriptions of crimes/pictures of crimes/crime scenes are quite nasty. All in all, if you can stomach the nastiness, the genius of this show is consistently on full display and I'm excited to watch Season 2!
