I wanted to like this show... I found the storyline pretty interesting, but damn if someone isn't eating or drinking in at least 80% of the scenes in the first episode. I can't stand the sound of people eating (or talking with their mouths full) and I couldn't get past it. I don't know why they had to have people chowing down or gulping drinks and audibly swallowing so frequently. So, if you have misophonia or just don't enjoy those noises, this show may not be for you. Womp womp.

Season 1 is not a thriller. Much more of a drama. It seems to go out of its way to be dull even while being exciting.

Actually I loved this show, it reminded me of the Sinner, my another favorite TV series about weird detective looking for murderers. Great cast, great story - looking forward to the 2nd season.

A great watch, took me a few episodes to feel any momentum but then I grew to really like the characters. The retired detective, "Kermit" lol, is such a great actor he was perfect for the role, honestly I think majority of the characters were well cast. The disturbing darkness the story crawls into is the type of entertainment I really enjoy when the filmmakers get it right, and in this show they do.

why would a good looking gal go for an old fat bearded guy? how can a sloppy old drunk suddenly completely change so fast? how could the cops be so stupid as to not think of another key to the car (or some other entry method)? ... and the letters? are the bad guy and the dead mother the same ones from psycho? was anyone surprised that the mother ate the rat poisoned meat? did they leave anyone out? lesbian - check mom-son incest - check drunks - check autism spectrum - check super nice brilliant black kid on his way to Harvard - check bad corporate bosses - check etc...

Tense, gripping, twisty, with great performances by all of the cast, this is a must see, edge of your seat, nail biting thriller!

A disappointing teleplay of a good King story, the TV show is unnecessary. Gratuitous, annoying romantic moments and protracted dialogue scenes mask an interesting detective tale. Brady & Debbie casting was amazing - Brady especially, looks exactly how I pictured and for the most part, the feel of their life and relationship is spot on. However, Holly's character somehow turned into erratic extroversion, rather than nervous introversion. And although Lou is entertaining in her witty sarcasm, she is a pandering replacement for the book's character with whom Brady shallowly connected. Choice of music is far too light for the dark topic - in a mainstream way, rather than a good balance way. I fast forwarded through many scenes and only continued watching to sate curiosity of book to TV enactment. Overall, a waste of time.

I adored this adaption of King's Bill Hodges trilogy. Stand up character studies beautifully and believably acted by Gleason, Treadway, Lupe, Taylor, Wool and Jerome are outstanding and the secondary characters do not disappoint either. Casting did a superb job here. The storytelling is scripted beautifully and you develop immediate affection for many of these characters. This is cerebral in its delivery and many may find this plods along without the usual shoot'um up/blow'um ups we see today but this is what makes this series Grade A.
