A spinoff of "Star Trek: The Next Generation," "Deep Space Nine" is set on a space station near the planet Bajor. This time, Commander Benjamin Sisko is in charge of a diverse crew. But unlike other "Star Trek" series, there's no USS Enterprise to help them. Sisko and the crew must fight off rival alien species who want control of Deep Space Nine because of its strategic position close to a wormhole, which allows speedy travel to the far reaches of space.

This episode just tries to accomplish too much, and in doing so, shortchanges almost everything. There are possibilities here, but few that generate real excitement; and death, when it comes, leaves everything looking hollow by comparison. Go to Full Review

By my estimation, at least four of these episodes are among the best the series ever made. Go to Full Review

In the end, straddling the line between comedy and serious drama does Profit And Lace no favours, being neither humorous nor engaging. What we're left with is the worst episode of the best Trek series. Go to Full Review

In terms of drama, power, intrigue, and excitement, DS9 season 6 reminds us of the sheer greatness of Star Trek and why it is still unrivaled in the history of science fiction television. Go to Full Review

John C @Scatter 4d Quite simply, one of the best seasons of TV ever put to screen. There are a couple of clunkers - particularly towards the end of the season - but there's a mid-season stretch of around 15 episodes which is just banger after banger. Far Beyond the Stars, Inquisition and In the Pale Moonlight are three of the best episodes of sci-fi you'll see anywhere... See more David K 10/10/2024 One of the best science fiction shows in the history of TV! My favorite heroes, my favorite series and my favorite franchise! See more Louis F @Rene.J 05/23/2023 What you should do, starting with Season 1, is watch only the episodes related to the Dominion Wars. Ignore everything else. See more Max P 04/15/2023 I don't understand why critics rate this season so low. Sure, it has some "filler & comedy-focused light-hearted" episodes here and there but to criticize an otherwise excellent season simply because of the existence of those few episodes is rather ridiculous. This season has some of the best episodes of the entire series - and I consider DS9 to be the #1 ranked Star Trek series ever even as of today (4/15/23). In fact, I think DS9 ranks among the best space-based sci-fi series of all time, standing up there with heavyweights such as The Expanse and Battlestar Galactica (2004 version). One can easily argue that "In the Pale Moonlight" is the best single episode of any Star Trek series released so far. See more Chuck A 02/26/2023 Star Trek's Deep Space 9 was one of the only series from this canon that didn't have a weak season, it was quite surprising that the series best season is considered the weakest by the voting tally here.
