Judith F @RT82640177 09/09/2024 This show has been disappointing to me this year. I really enjoyed the first two seasons. You knew who the winner was going to be from episode one. Very obvious. My problem was that this cook wasn't even striving to represent a region of the U.S. but an entirely different continent - Africa. That to me does not make her an American cook or even an African American cook, but an African cook. I will not be watching a season 4 if there is one. I absolutely LOVE The Great American Recipe show! And Season 3 did not disappoint! What I appreciate most about this lovely cooking show is the delightful camaraderie of the home cooks. Their dishes are prepared with so much excitement, attentiveness, compassion, and pride. The nods to their heritage are especially moving. Kudos to the WONDERFUL judges as well! Their enthusiasm and respect for the creativity of the dishes prepared by the home cooks, and the intense effort with which they are prepared is simply heartwarming. The home cooks are always up for whatever challenge is presented to them, and their excitement to earn a win is especially engaging! I really like that no home cook is actually sent home! With this enjoyable change to the show, they (and the audience) now have the amazing opportunity to savor their time with each other for the duration of the show! As a viewer, I get attached to the home cooks, and it’s really heartbreaking when someone is sent home. With this change, I feel like everyone is a winner—and they definitely are! Lastly, every year I look forward to snuggling up on my sofa with a comfy throw, and my food of choice to enjoy the warm and inviting atmosphere of the BEST show for home cooks in town! See more renee b @RT84745375 06/18/2024 This is called Great AMERICAN Recipe and I know that America is called the Great Melting Pot but, sheesh, isn't there a big oversight here? Where's the NATIVE AMERICAN chefs?? Aren't they the First Americans with the Original American Recipes? Half the chefs in Season 3 weren't even born in America. Let's have Native American chefs in Season 4 since I'm sure that Season 3 has already been filmed. See more Read all reviews
