This Washington, D.C.-based drama stars Rob Lowe as Jack Turner, the idealistic son from a political dynasty who handles cases and navigates the inner workings of a 150-year-old law firm that is potentially harboring some dark secrets. Also working at Lyon's, Lacrosse and Levine, is Jack's practical friend Riley, who is being forced to accept a promotion he doesn't want; Grant, the competitive, cynical one; and alcoholic Ariel.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Its knack for melodrama veers towards overindulgent, but The Lyon's Den stands as a slick, well-cast drama with a fruitful supply of intrigue.

The good guys are suffocating on goodness and the bad guys all but spew green slime in this update and transplant of "L.A. Law," a mixture of issue-laden court cases and gossipy backstage shenanigans at the firm. Go to Full Review

[Rob] Lowe does fine -- pretty well, really -- with what he's been given, but it's only a cheap mystery about unlikable people. Go to Full Review

In the hands of this able cast, "The Lyon's Den" purrs. The intrigue spun by the end of the first episode primes you for the next. Go to Full Review

If subsequent scripts are as intriguing and less transparent and cluttered than the pilot, Lowe and company will be on a Nielsen high. Go to Full Review

This series is potentially intriguing-or so I choose to believe, despite a few scenes... that are flat-out ridiculous. Go to Full Review
