While newcomers can certainly find things to enjoy in The Testaments’ strong central performances and painterly cinematography, it’s hard to shake the sense that it’s only prolonging a story that should’ve wrapped up ages ago. Go to Full Review

The show’s setting may feel YA, but the reality it seeks to depict is anything but. Go to Full Review

Dowd, of course, is next level. Compressing and occasionally revealing all that she has been through in “The Handmaid’s Tale” and before, what she manages to make Aunt Lydia is both Dorian Gray and his portrait. Go to Full Review

The Testaments is a worthy successor to Handmaid’s Tale and a great gut-punch of a show in its own right. Go to Full Review

"By focusing on the perspectives of Agnes and her schoolmates, the show employs a much-needed vibe shift, becoming, at times, an incredibly fraught teen melodrama." Go to Full Review

Eric C. @RT55512492 May 3 What a great television show exactly what we need in this time of need. The Testaments reflects concerns about power by showing an extreme society where the government tightly controls people’s lives, beliefs, and freedoms. Its portrayal of ideology, education, and authority can feel especially relevant today, which is why many viewers see it as an important and timely show that sparks discussion about leadership and accountability. However, it isn’t a direct parody of any specific administration, but a broader warning about how unchecked power can shape any society. Gave first episode a chance but no more than that. See more Mikail B @RT74525399 May 1 Boring boring and boring, this is a reimagining, and a lazy one at that. See more RZ U @RT47435222 Apr 20 I am LOVING this. Such a great segue from the Handmaid's Tale. Can't wait to see where they go with it! See more Read all reviews
