Comprehensive and detailed enough to tell die hard fans of one of Canada’s biggest bands things they never knew before and enlightening enough to show the uninitiated or unfamiliar why their work mattered. Go to Full Review

Boy, we were lucky in Canada to have had it all, this collective musical force so pure in its identity that it’s an anthem in our hearts.  What haunts me still is that voice and the feelings it stirred and stirs. A superior and important doc Go to Full Review

Go T @RT99501886 Apr 27 Excellent documentary. You will spend the entire 4th installment with tears in your eyes. I'm an old-timey Hip fan from Detroit. I saw them in concert twice at the Toledo Zoo Amphitheatre (1996, 1998) once at Pine Knob (1999), and finally at the Fox Theater (2004) and they never disappointed. All four of my ticket stubs are in a frame which hangs just below my Hip concert poster. I've been reading the other audience reviews and astonishingly, each one turned into some weird, twisted, political rant. The good news for you disgruntled individuals is that Canada will soon be the 51st state of America. You won't have to moan about a Prime Minister any longer! You will be told how to behave by McDonald Trump and Elon "Chainsaw" Musk. Kid Rock will be your new favorite recording artist. If you resist, an El Salvadoran prison will be your new home. If you get sad, you can all join hands and sing Wheat Kings together in your crowded cell. See more Finniganmydog T @Finmydog 10/08/2024 This is a decent documentary about the hip. My major complaint is having to watch the current narcist Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau "wax poetic" in his fake emotive theatrics about the band and the passing of Downey. Just seeing the most disliked PM in Canadian history on screen raised my blood pressure, this the 4 stars instead of 5 stars. See more CT 8 @ct8787 10/06/2024 A very good and informative documentary about an iconic Canadian rock band. If not for the numerous appearances by Canada’s current PM Justin Castro Jr. I’d have given it 4 1/2 stars. See more Ken S @RT00208924 09/21/2024 As a long time big fan of the group I felt the final product lacked in some areas, however overall it really captured what it could and was packed with insightful information and entertainment. I can't begin to imagine how difficult a task it was to pull off something perfect given the vast subject matter. I found there was alot of repeated archival footage, that of which was already seen by the general public. The groups struggles were presented in a very raw, real and gritty nature, which proved the integrity of the film makers. There was alot of focus on the 2 Bob Rock albums which casted a cloud really I felt. At that point in the doc, a glaring omission of an album was quite present. The doc focussed on a timeline thrust by each album, why set it up that way, only to leave one out? In summary the inception of the group was presented very well, through the rising success years. Once some trying times came along the film took on a sloth like rythm. Only to reprize again to approach Gords final times on earth, very raw and emotional. Overall a touching and insightful film.
