Several years since a zombie virus swept across America, there's only one person -- who goes by just Murphy -- known to have survived the infection -- the world's last hope at creating a vaccine. The last functioning viral lab needs blood from him for its antibodies, but the facility is in California and the man is in New York. A ragtag group of strangers works to transport him to the West Coast, but his dark secret remains hidden, which could threaten everyone. Hammond and his second in command, Garnett, initially lead the group of the living -- later replaced by Lt. Warren -- and computer hacker Citizen Z helps everyone navigate through the zombie-infested terrain. When the group meets a man in Colorado, he offers to take Murphy the rest of the way to California. When nuclear weapons are launched, people head into survival mode and become desperate to find a cure.

The second season of Syfy's Z Nation will make you gag, think, and laugh -- not necessarily in that order. Go to Full Review

Z Nation is a show that works in extremes. Really, just the one extreme, which involves veering towards whatever might be the most bug-nuts insane thing to do each week. Go to Full Review

The impression I'm getting, for at least the first part of this season, is that it's going to be all about chasing Murphy and his hoard of zombie acolytes. That sounds like a lot of fun. Go to Full Review

Charlene P Jun 14 Season 2 of Z Nation was a ride. If you thought the first season was wild, this one takes it to a whole new level. It starts with nukes and just keeps getting crazier—zombie weed farms, alien cults, a zombie museum… like, what?? But somehow it all works, and I couldn’t stop watching. What I love is that this show doesn’t try to be a traditional zombie lore series. It’s got its own vibe—fun, ridiculous, a little dark, but never too serious. Murphy really steps up this season, and the whole crew feels tighter. Plus, that zombie/human baby twist? Wild. This season Z Nation embraces the outrageous and owns it, but also has more solid action and really good character development. If you liked Season 1, Season 2 is even better. Campy, creative, and just the right amount of unhinged. See more David W @Sternhammer 09/13/2024 Builds on events from series one very nicely. Still one of if not the most enjoyable post zombie apocalypse series I've ever seen and I'm including The Walking Dead. Lots more inventive ideas, humour, pathos, great zombie effects, a cast who despite rosta changes really get and buy into proceedings and an evolving story arc. If anything it's an improvement from the superb first series. Still loving the bones of this. See more Anthony T 06/04/2023 Continues to be worth watching. New characters and good pacing. See more 04/27/2021 While S1 was really good, S2 manages to improve over that. More hilarity, but also more action and drama. The characters gain some depth. And while it's mostly about entertainment and fun, some food for thought can also be found. See more robert p 03/30/2021 Even though every series seems to have its.... uhhh wait a minute what...... moments I personally think think its better than TWD and it should have had atleast 2 more seasons See more 03/23/2021 Z Nation is TWD with camp. Overall Z is a lighter take on the zompocalypse than TWD. The dirty realism is dialed back, with style, humor, and scifi dialed up. If your tastes run to a lighter campier end of the world, Z nation may be for you. Season one gives you a solid sample of what the show has to offer through season 3. Season 4 starts to slide, with a decent over arching story, but with episodes that should have been piked. I am not kidding, there are some absolutely painfully bad scenes and episodes loose in 4. 5 regains its footing somewhat, but never recovers fully, a stumbling husk of what had been. The painfully bad has been excised, but the magic that imaginative writers can produce is gone. Ultimately being a shell of what 1-3 offered. See more Read all reviews
