28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (2026) 92% 79/100 EDIT “Da costa delivers a visceral, worthy successor that blazes its own trail, setting the standard on how to continue to world build within franchise extensions.” – Mac the Movie Guy Apr 6, 2026 Full Review Sonic the Hedgehog (2020) 64% 73/100 EDIT “It’s actually the desire to avoid the tropes of video game adaptations, instead placing this on earth, with real world rules, that makes it work.” – Mac the Movie Guy Apr 5, 2026 Full Review The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023) 59% 64/100 EDIT “A hodgepodge of ideas that was thrown together in the biggest fan service Illumination could give us.” – Mac the Movie Guy Apr 5, 2026 Full Review Project Hail Mary (2026) 95% 90/100 EDIT “Project Hail Mary feels like the antithesis of its title.Instead of being a gamble, it plays like the best, most epic, populist title of the year. it is so brashly accessible, it is anything but a Hail Mary. Unforgettable from start to finish.” – Mac the Movie Guy Apr 4, 2026 Full Review The Testament of Ann Lee (2025) 86% 66/100 EDIT “I’m willing to testify that this is Seyfried’s best work on film to date. Her maturity, calmness, and determination carry an uneven film worth a watch, but perhaps not a second.” – Mac the Movie Guy Apr 4, 2026 Full Review Renner (2025) 41% 68/100 EDIT “Munis clearly showed up with something to prove, and really throws himself into it with this manic energy, for a film with a decent third act twist.” – Mac the Movie Guy Apr 3, 2026 Full Review Tank (1984) 33% 73/100 EDIT “this movie is cheesy as hell, like an episode of Dukes Of Hazard and I’m here for it. ” – Mac the Movie Guy Apr 3, 2026 Full Review Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice (2026) 77% 44/100 EDIT “Stumbling through time and genre, mike & Nick & nick & Alice is half as fun as it wants to be, often trading in snarky gags in place of richer plot and character development. ” – Mac the Movie Guy Apr 3, 2026 Full Review Primate (2025) 78% 78/100 EDIT “I’m not monkeying around here. Primate is brutal, bananas, and a whole lot of fun.” – Mac the Movie Guy Apr 3, 2026 Full Review The Ascent (2026) 100% 82/100 EDIT “Two things can be true. The Ascent can be life affirming, but it can also be shocking, unnerving, and horrifying. Prepare to feel all the emotions.” – Mac the Movie Guy Apr 3, 2026 Full Review The Serpent's Skin (2025) 97% 77/100 EDIT “It certainly has a style all its own, influenced by exceptional bold filmmakers, yet with an originality sure to get under your skin. Its sexy, fun, and honest.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 29, 2026 Full Review Anaconda (2025) 47% 49/100 EDIT “Your anaconda won’t want none because it ain’t got a plot, son.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 29, 2026 Full Review Forbidden Fruits (2026) 74% 79/100 EDIT “Forbidden Fruits is plum ripe, offering biting and crisp dialogue, juicy violence, but could have used a kick in the pacing and score/soundtrack areas.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 29, 2026 Full Review Your Attention Please (2026) 90/100 EDIT “Your Attention Please is so captivating it will help you ignore the 47 push notifications you’ll get from your social media platforms while the film is playing.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 28, 2026 Full Review Sentimental Value (2025) 95% EDIT “It’s hard to define what value there is to sentimentality when the feature in question is inaccessible to a chunk of its audience, thus answering a different question on values, and how Neon views a portion of its potential audience.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 28, 2026 Full Review The Plastic Detox (2026) 59/100 EDIT “The Plastic Detox leaves you unsatisfied with the results, wanting to relapse if only for a better supported look at an alternative learning choice.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 28, 2026 Full Review Mercy (2026) 25% 58/100 EDIT “It hinges on the hope that the audience has either forgotten or never seen Minority Report, a far better, well-written, dystopian crime thriller that Mercy will never be.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 23, 2026 Full Review Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024) 80% 81/100 EDIT “Proximus Caesar stole the show for me, twisting the original Caesar’s words around to suit him.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 22, 2026 Full Review Fat Albert (2004) 23% 47/100 EDIT “Fat Albert is one of those films lost to the controversies in the passage of time. While this was never a great film, there is something about the kindness that permeates through the film, and through Thompson’s performance, that feels lacking today.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 22, 2026 Full Review One Mile: Chapter One (2026) 64/100 EDIT “The audacity is in believing the world needed a chapter 2, before even seeing Chapter 1. While it lacks the inventiveness of franchises like John Wick, it has enough action to keep you entertained.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 22, 2026 Full Review Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024) 90% 81/100 EDIT “It is hard to take your franchise to a crescendo like Fury Road, and then ask people to have the patience for the different methodology behind Furiosa but I respect that Miller was going for a different vibe here, and a different method of storytelling.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 21, 2026 Full Review Anora (2024) 93% 87/100 EDIT “A loud, boisterous representation of a dream realized.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 21, 2026 Full Review Do Not Enter (2025) 61/100 EDIT “Do Not Enter is a somewhat goofy teen horror entry, but I found myself oddly entertained in a film with lots of questions and few answers.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 21, 2026 Full Review Mean Girls (2024) 68% 74/100 EDIT “Rapp is clearly the best singer in the cast, and gets to showcase her talent in anthems like Til Someone Gets Hurt and World Burn. Rapp is the clear standout here.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 20, 2026 Full Review 20 Days in Mariupol (2023) 100% 98/100 EDIT “Harrowing footage capturing real chaos, real death, and the ever present sense of an uncertain tomorrow. No one set out to make this, but by keeping the cameras there they captured the devastation, and also the resilience in the face of fear.” – Mac the Movie Guy Mar 20, 2026 Full Review
