I think it's quite good for it's time. The villains and the big corperate executives felt cartoonish and silly. But in general it's a fun and cool movie. As a Dutch man I feel proud this movie is directed by a Dutch movie director. A few years ago I played the PS5 game Robocop. It's fun to see that the game took the essence of the Police station of the movie. A fun game though! From the extremely goofy but fun commercials, to the hilarious one-liners Robocop says throughout the movie. The movie itself is also great, Clarence Boddicker fits as a great street level villain, while the transformation from Alex Murphy into Robocop doesn't feel rushed and lifeless like the 2014 reboot. Even though the movie can be cheesy at some points, that is also the same reason why I love it! Would recommend to anyone who enjoys any sort of action movie, and is in my top 5 favourite movies of all time! See more Tim B. @SlimTim0707 May 24 It would have been easier to like this movie without the excessive, over the top 80's gore, but good special effects and a coherent plot make Robocop an entertaining enough watch. What's kind of ironic to me is the anti-capitalism messaging here, considering this film went through plenty of recuts and negotiating to secure an R rating in order to ensure it had a chance to turn a profit at the box office.
