Much like the undead beings Snipes is hunting, Gallowwalkers just won't stop - no matter how much you wish it would.

Funnier by accident than Adam Sandler is on purpose.

a bold folly, mixing genres and colour palettes with all the desultory visual flair of a Jodorowsky film, but with none of the Chilean director's intelligence or depth of ideas. So it's Shallowwalkers really...

Audience Reviews for Gallowwalkers

Death ain't the worst thing that can happen to you. A man is a former adopted child who witnessed a heinous act and was both blessed and cursed with the ability to hunt down those responsible and bring justice. He has aligned the ultimate showdown but will require a young apprentice to help him with his efforts. Together, they square off against a gang of the undead. "I'll need a shirt." Andrew Goth, director of BUSTED and Cold and Dark, delivers Gallowalkers. The storyline for this picture reminded me of Priest in some ways. This is a science fiction futuristic western that has a very "Blade out west" action sequences. The acting is mediocre and the cast includes Wesley Snipes, Tanit Phoenix, Kevin Haworth, and Steven Elder. "Trouble with the damn is, they never stay put..." This was recently added to Netflix so I decided to randomly add it to the queue and give it a shot. It was okay with some worthwhile scenes but a pathetic plot that was clumsy and ridiculous in parts. This is a below average addition to the genre that is worth watching only if nothing else is on. "You my whore or what?" Grade: D+/C-

I was really stoked at first. It seemed like a modern day Spaghetti Western with the great cinematography and classical Western music score, but the story didn't work for me. It had good shooting scenes, but Jonah Hex was better for a Sci-Fi Western...

This horror western directed by Andrew Goth and starring Wesley Snipes, Kevin Howarth, Riley Smith and Tanit Phoenix, as a co-star includes wrestler Diamond Dallas Page. The film is listed under 2009 but it was just theatrically released recently, in 2013. The film first came to general attention in 2005 as The Wretched with Chow Yun-fat chosen to star as zombie bounty hunter Rellik, but it dropped off the radar until the involvement of Wesley Snipes brought it back to press attention. The filming in Namibia coincided with Snipes' tax problems, but there was always a backer, Gary Smith, who ensured there was a completion bond as back-up. He always believed in Wesley Snipes as a star and stated: "We are happy that he continues to turn up on set each day. If his indictment creates this amount of press it shows he is a star." Maybe he is a star in this story of a nun braking her covenant with God to save the life of Aman, her unborn son, that way providing him with a cursed for life - but the rest of the actors were far from star acting abilities. As an adult, Aman (Snipes) has killed those who have crossed him. But his curse brings his victims back to life, and as the undead, they pursue him endlessly for revenge. Forever suffering this curse, Aman enlists Fabulos (Smith), a young gunman, to fight by his side against his undead victims. The story was, at moments, mildly said - confusing! Dialogues were close to worst clich├ęs you could imagine, and the action scenes were mostly pathetic. But, the cinematography was beautiful and colourful and camera work was exciting. With good and bad together still finishes rotten.
