Though wealthy, sultry teenager Mini (Nikki Reed) lives with the neglect of a mother (Carrie-Anne Moss) who drinks too much and cares too little, Mini tries to fill her empty life by always seeking "firsts." Her latest achievement is a torrid affair with her stepfather, Martin (Alec Baldwin), which escalates out of control and leaves her mother dead. Mini and Martin think they have gotten away with murder, but a nosy neighbor and a detective (Luke Wilson) may expose their plot.

It doesn't help that first-time screenwriter/director Nick Guthe created such a superficial group of characters. Few, if any, seem believable or are interesting enough to care about.

The characters in Mini are played by fine performers (Alec Baldwin, Jeff Goldblum, Carrie-Anne Moss), but they're still one-note.

Much of the film reeks of decadence and new money-the snazzy cars and clothes and the boxy, minimalist modern stone and glass interiors that are as cold as the characters themselves.

It was a very interesting movie, mostly because of the plot. I would say this was a one time watch - wouldn't be something I would watch again. It wasn't horrible. I enjoyed watching it and it was ok. Loved the plot twist.

"Mini's First Time" is one of my guilty plesure lifetime-esque moives. I was in my 17-18 when this came out and along with being super Gay for Alec Baldwin seeing a Daddy-Bear like him in the taboo Step-Dad sinaro was super hot to me. I know it's not PC by todays standards but Baldwin Fans like myslef will apricated having this on dvd for a rainy day!

Fun, smart and very entertaining. This film really is special and gets better with repeated viewings. "Mini's First Time" ranks up their with Nikki Reed's first film "Thirteen".

Synopsis
