Carla Tate (Juliette Lewis) has never been like her sisters. Sent at a young age to a school for children with intellectual impairments, a maturing Carla returns to her family home in San Francisco. Her overbearing mother, Elizabeth (Diane Keaton), and patient father, Radley (Tom Skerritt), struggle to come to terms with Carla's growing independence as she embarks on her dream of attending college and pursues a romance with Danny (Giovanni Ribisi), a young man with a similar disability.

Watched this with my 14 year old daughter and we both fell in love with the movie. Giovanni knocked it out of the park, acting wise, and was definitely a feel good movie.

Perfect movie for me. I cry. Should be rebooted, not remade. Ribisi , so underrated, pops up in so so so many movies. The Gift, he should have gotten an award. Very talented.

Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom

One of my favorite movies. Giovanni/ juliet Lewis are a great combination of actors to put together. They make their relationship seem like it was meant to be. Diane keaton also plays the near oteric mother brilliantly.

yikes, captain arthur dallas fathered a handicapped daughter and it's all downhill from there. geoffrey lewis' daughter is a real life cretin and michael corleones wife is the mother. don't watch brain damaged movies......EVER!!!
