03/31/2012 A great van driving stunt opens the film! And the story is cool. The girls are bad and beautiful... Just loved this film... See more 03/31/2012 Cool, cool, cool - just one of the best films I've seen. Loved the twist at the end... See more 03/31/2012 What a truly great British independent film... What's refreshing about this is that instead of languishing in the usual Brit genre of 'Social Comment' films, that are lets face it, downright depressing, this is a wittily written, teen heist story with a twist that is extraordinarily entertaining. The producers (Ragged Crow) claim to have made it for £5 grand in 7 days of filming, and if this true, then the vast majority of big budget film producers should be ashamed of themselves! The cast is a bunch of unknowns but, it is hard to believe that they will be for long. All the performances are extraordinarily committed, none more so that the star Naomi Baxter who plays the tantalisingly devious femme fatal Kristina, and Charlotte Fine who plays her side-kick, the adorable geek with bite, Alice. The basic story is this: Two likely lads (Max Warrick and Kristian Jenkins) pull an ingenious kidnap and heist. They go out to celebrate and meet a couple of girls (Baxter and Fine). The girls find out about the money and plot to steal it for themselves...What elevates this above a typical heist story, is not only the Tarantino-esque dialogue by the screenwriter Sam Edwards (also the Producer), but the fact that all the characters have significant back stories, which are subtly bought into play and highlight the reasons for what they all do.There is a horribly tense stand-off towards the end of the film where the girls have got hold of a gun and turn the table on the boys who have come to sort them out with a base-ball bat, which is brilliantly pulled off through the incredibly skilled direction of Ed Edwards, with a vaguely comic element that highlights the taut situation...But who ends up with the money? That was the real twist I didn't see coming - and I don't believe in spoilers, but I will just say it entails a sun-set meet with a girl and a sports car, beautifully shot at Battersea Power Station... Great stuff. Can't wait to see the next film from this team... See more Read all reviews
