No consensus yet.
A very solid outing in positive territory for the first episode of Season 3.
All three supporting characters, essentially, have taken a turn for the morally bankrupt. Not that that's a flaw in this world, exactly, but our love for them is harder to defend.
A beautiful concoction of not just plot details, but half-zip pullovers, Malin Akerman trying to act, and oddly perfect dialogue...
If you are actually bringing in the big bucks for your team, people will find a way to like you. Billions does a good job demonstrating that shift in how people see Taylor.
The result is a dense and dizzying hour that severely tested my note-taking speed limit.
The season 3 premiere, Tie Goes to the Runner, is a welcome affirmation that Billions isn't slowing down any time soon.
So yeah, there's a lot going on. But the brilliance of Billions lies in acting like there isn't, moving at a breakneck speed through every convoluted concept and complex plotline.
