Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. The best part about the Fallout series is how many references are sprinkled in for fans to point out. I had an absolute blast seeing all the little easter egg, ranging from surface level to obscure ones that only the most obsessive fans will notice.

I love the old school but also futuristic vibes. I’m not to familiar with the video game I know there’s one out there but I’ve just seen videos about it online. Those videos convinced me to watch the show and I’m glad I did. The first season is great at giving me some backstory to the apocalypse, some of the vaults and some of the characters that were alive when the apocalypse happened. I’m excited to start watching the next season soon. I want to find out what entirely happened in vault 31 and 32. I also hope we get some more backstory on Lucy’s mother. There has to be more there that they’re not telling us yet. Oh, and ghouls family. I wonder if his daughter survived and he has a family that he doesn’t know about yet. Her mother might’ve had something arranged and got their daughter into one of the vaults without ghoul knowing and she’s been trying to look for him this whole time. I’m just guessing again as someone who has no knowledge of the game or any of the characters. I hope his wife and daughter are still alive but it’s more likely that his daughter survived and his wife is gone.

Just like the game it is based on, the series is in turns cheerfully witty and harrowingly dark with a groovy sprinkle of nostalgia throughout. Political satire and science fiction collide with over-the-top gore collide with romance and family drama. I have a hard time believing anyone doesn’t love it.

Rich lore, long history, large world. Not an easy job adapting all that to TV, but they pulled it off, they did it. Excellent!
