Micki Foster is the lucky niece who inherits an antique store from her Uncle Lewis. But this is no ordinary antique shop. Lewis made a deal with the devil -- in exchange for material wealth, he will sell cursed antiques. Micki, along with cousin Ryan and her partner, retired magician Jack, have the duty of recovering the antiques to be sealed in their basement, where the items can't cause more harm.

Pre-CG, the effects here are a blend of the practical and the composite, and while they look clunky and outdated by today's standards, there's a sense of reality that ultimately permits them to remain effectively scary. Go to Full Review

Friday the 13th: The Series is required viewing that's perfect fodder for a dark stormy night at home. It packs enough murder, mayhem, and ludicrously big hair to satisfy any Eighties horror buff. Go to Full Review

It seems the real terror is going to be watching this terrible series. Go to Full Review

Michael V. @KensingtonMike Feb 22 A fun to watch blast from the past series! See more Horror fan 4 @Horrorfan4life Apr 12 What a piece of crap. Using the name trying to attract an audience. The Halloween franchise did the same thing with season of the witch and it didn't work out either. Tim Treakle See more Josh A Apr 8 I probably wouldn't be watching this if it wasn't part of the Friday the 13th series, as I'm a completionist, but it's alright for what it is. Let's begin. Firstly, this show isn't really linked to Friday the 13th. It's like Halloween 3, but at least in Halloween 3's case it was part of John Carpenter's original vision for the series and it was only the third film. The same could be said for F13 as it was gonna be an anthology series, but they scrapped that and this was just named the way it was for money, essentially. But the actual show is pretty solid. I'm not rewatching anytime soon, but it's a solid concept: haunted antiques. The doll is probably one of my favourites. Also the finale is great and reminds me of The Doctor's Wife, in a sense. Pretty good stuff. The best way to describe this is average, I'd say. I have a ranking of all the movies and I use this as basically the line between good and bad, which works. Overall, it's a solid show. Not amazing but not awful. See more Pedro L 06/18/2024 As a teen when this came out, it was great watching it on Chicago TV on Friday nights. I loved how it had an overlying arc, but each episode was a standalone you could watch with a friend and they don't need to be on board. See more 12/13/2019 Jason is on the loose once again in…err, actually Friday the 13th: The Series has no connection to the films, yet it's still a pretty solid supernatural television show. Created by Frank Mancuso Jr. (a producer of the films), two cousins inherit an antique store from their uncle but soon discover that the antiques have been cursed, leading them to attempt to get back all the items that their uncle sold and prevent them from causing further harm. John D. LeMay and Louise Robey (or just Robey) have good chemistry together and give rather strong performances. Additionally, the writing is fairly creative in coming up with mystic powers to go with the various antiques. Also, the show is surprisingly horrific and frightening for broadcast television; unafraid to go to some fairly dark and macabre places. However, the cases-of-the-week can be rather hit-and-miss and get a little formulaic and predictable at times. Still, despite some weaknesses, Season 1 of Friday the 13th: The Series is entertaining and full of chills. See more Read all reviews
