Eve's life as a spy is not adding up to what she had hoped it would be when she started. She is a bored, very smart, MI5 security officer who is very desk-bound. Villanelle is a very talented killer, mercurial in mood, who clings to the luxuries of her job. Eve and Villanelle go head to head in a fierce game of cat and mouse, each woman equally obsessed with the other as Eve is tasked with hunting down the psychopathic assassin. Sarah Barnett, BBCA president, says, "'Killing Eve' stands out in a sea of scripted stories as refreshingly entertaining and great fun."

What to Know

Critics Consensus

With the titillating cat-and-mouse game still rooted at its core, Killing Eve returns for an enthralling second season of considerably higher stakes, hilariously dark humor and a captivating dynamic between characters, solidifying its position as one of the best spy thrillers out.

A lot of the second season felt like fan fiction... But like the best fanfic writers, new showrunner Emerald Fennell grounded this fantasy storyline just enough to keep it feeling real. Go to Full Review

It is these bafflements and examinations of the innermost and least logical workings of human emotion that leave us, like Eve with Villanelle and Villanelle with Eve, utterly captivated, and make Killing Eve so obsession worthy. Go to Full Review

I think it's got a fantastic premise ... but it's now trying to seek a new dynamic and there are some frustrations in trying to work out where this is going. Go to Full Review

By offering varying depictions of women in the spy genre, Killing Eve is a departure from... the male gaze. Go to Full Review

Its second season, which picks up immediately after the cliffhanger that closed out its first, dives even deeper into the relationship between the two main characters, Eve and Villanelle. Go to Full Review

Ethan O. @EthanLikesMovies Jul 14 Loved this season almost as much as the first! Truly amazing See more mac b 01/23/2025 Killing Eve is a comic book for women. They get to punch all the bad guys, have affairs with whomever they want, keep their loyal partners back home, and wear killer outfits. The first two seasons were each good...but should have ended...seasons 3&4 offer up characters' backgrounds and dish the depression...but there's no real reason for the series to continue. See more 51emeraldmeadows M 01/22/2025 For me you must have a real f***** up brain to give this show a high rating. All you people who gave it a high rating you scare me. I don't want to meet you on the street I don't want to meet you anywhere. It's just a movie that sensationalizes graphic violence it has no redeeming social value and after watching it you will be lesser of a human being. See more Annette B 12/15/2024 There are so many excellent reasons to watch this season, but it’s hard to summarise. There’s still so much going on, but in the best way possible. Would recommend! See more Madalynn 07/27/2024 This what yearning for someone feels like. See more Tony P @T-dog94 06/28/2024 I kind of liked it but there were some moment's where I'd scratch my head because of how the writing didn't make a whole lot of sense. Killing Eve is still an enjoyable series but nothing really special happens in season two where you'd go or say things like (Wow, or no way!) See more Read all reviews
