Jun 26, 2011 | Full Review… David Hinckley New York Daily News Top Critic It's getting a little long in the tooth now, but new blood is still capable of energizing True Blood. Jun 26, 2011 | Rating: B+ | Full Review… Ed Bark Uncle Barky Top Critic The structure of the show is based on its season-to-season escalation of the supernatural, but it's also rooted in the escalation of the personal. Just about every character has something to do this season, which is fairly typical for True Blood. Jul 2, 2018 | Full Review… Charles Webb MTV HBO's True Blood rises from the grave of last year's uneven season, smarter, spookier and sexier than before. Jun 22, 2018 | Full Review… Mark A. Perigard Boston Herald Suffice to say, this season felt like a horrible mockery of the previous years - it lacked a cool villain, and meanwhile Vampire Eric was mistreated in the worst way. May 11, 2018 | Full Review… Charlie Jane Anders io9.com The problem with True Blood at this point is that there isn't any room to breathe. Mar 2, 2018 | Rating: 2.5/5 | Full Review… Ross Ruediger Bullz-Eye.com It's still sexy and blood-soaked, but the novelty's worn thin. Nov 1, 2017 | Rating: 3/5 | Full Review… William Thomas Empire Magazine Top Critic True Blood returns with too many new characters, not enough time with the characters I like, a general evasion of the most prickly parts of last season's finale, and some plodding hints at a lumbering dramatic direction for this season. Jun 26, 2011 | Rating: C- | Full Review… Dan Fienberg HitFix If there's another TV show that can approach its ability to meld melodramatic horror, fun and social metaphor, I haven't seen it. Jun 26, 2011 | Full Review… Hank Stuever Washington Post Top Critic If you're addicted to True Blood's brand of smoldering melodrama, well, there's a lot of it this season. And it looks as though about half of it might actually be worth watching. Jun 26, 2011 | Full Review… Maureen Ryan Huffington Post View All Critic Reviews (17) Audience Reviews for True Blood: Season 4 ½ Frisby2 Super Reviewer YinalíR Super Reviewer MattG Super Reviewer Picking up from where it was left off, season 4 jumped forward a year later from season 3 with characters moving in new directions. Lousianna was once again under the threat of supernatural forces, with an ancient vengeful witch vowing to destroy all vampires, any humans standing along the way shall perish too. Sookie and friends must work together to save the day. The main plot was great, I enjoyed the gore and thrill but various subplots were completely unnecessary.
