Having been married to storied sportscaster Dick Enberg from 1959 to 1975, television writer and producer Jeri Taylor first began drafting scripts in 1979 for the series "Salvage 1." The following year she gained more significant experience as a television writer with her work on the hit show "Quincy M.E."; she began directed and producing episodes of the series in 1982. Fellow producer Lee Sheldon was so impressed by Taylor's work on "Quincy M.E." and "Jake and the Fatman," that he recommended her to the producers of "Star Trek: The Next Generation." Thus, she began writing for the classic sci-fi series in 1990 and later served as an executive producer. Taylor had seemingly found her niche in the family of "Star Trek," earning an Emmy nomination for her efforts as a producer on the series and continued to work within the franchise by creating the next installment entitled "Star Trek: Voyager" in 1995. She wrote and executive-produced episodes of the show from 1995 to 2001, while also authoring three "Star Trek" novels for Pocket Books. Her son, Alexander Enberg, has also appeared in episodes of both "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and "Star Trek: Voyager."
