Norm Macdonald is probably one of the best comedians but when it comes to this film I can not quite describe it. The whole idea of revenge for hire is kinda awkward but funny in a way. Some of their antics/dirty deeds are either unrealistically depicted or downright stupid. But if you're a fan of SNL then you will laugh at how stupid the characters are. I guess "Dirty Work" falls in between mediocre and decent, it does not help that extensive dubbing was done to tone the film down to PG-13 and it is blatantly obvious in some scenes.

After all these years I still find this one of the better SNL aftermath movies, most of the actors show up for little cameos. I've heard rumours this movie was something else before the studio decided on cutting this into the film we know today. The film isn't the greatest film but the likable leads and story save this from being anything boring, Macdonald is quite funny, such a shame he didn't kickoff like Sandler or Farley. It would be nice to see the version that was meant to be be released, always interesting to see the film as it was written. 15-10-2017.

Not as bad as advertised ... but seeing Chris Farley in that condition was tough.

If you can set aside the lack of development and enjoy this great cast I think you'll enjoy the movie. I enjoyed it for what it was.

There's only one reason to see this movie: Don Rickles as the theater manager, dressing down the troops. The rest of the movie is pretty horrible.

This film is absolutely hilarious. I do not care to bludgeon the acting performance of the director's script. I would myself consider this too be a satirical, cult classic. Norm MacDonald's monotonous humorous tone works wonders in this late 90's comedy. It is not meant to be seriously critiqued, it's a bloody comedy based on comical revenge. The reviews are bitter and are based on conformity to upper echelon critics. Watch the movie, do not read the damn reviews.

I enjoyed it. I'm not even really a Norm Macdonald fan to start with, but this movie was entertaining enough for me even if it was cheesy in certain parts.

SLN stars make another Movie
Dirty Work, it's about Payback and revenge
To get those back for causing others harm

It's not a bad Plot having to raise money for something to give the movie Purpose and it works with such Cult Movies as
The Blues Brothers

Unfortunately it doesn't improve this movie, as there is two many things happening, A love story, an family reunion, a bromance, Danny who had his nose bitten off (Chris Farley) and Dirty Work

There are some funny moments and a few laughs but If they cut some things out this would have been a great movie

You have some famous stars in this movie such as Gary Coleman, Adam Sander, John Goodman to name a few

This movie came out 1998 and I watched it in 2015 would I thought it was funnier back when it came out maybe

It's still worth watching, rent out on DVD when your stuck to choose something to watch

Norm Macdonald is one of the most unique comedic acts out there, and people tend to have a love or hate relationship with him. If you are not a fan of him, this movie will not convince you otherwise, but fans of him will be delighted to see him in a feature film. He plays Mitch Weaver, a loser who is down on his luck and now forced to raise 50,000 dollars to raise money for his friend's dad's heart surgery. The best idea he can come up with is to start a revenge business where for a fee he will prank anyone who needs this, but is unwilling to do it themselves. It is surprisingly an original comedy and filled with great Norm like moments.
