Movie Info

The romantic comedy Wedding Daze stars Jason Biggs as Anderson, a young man all set to ask his girlfriend to marry him when, during the actual proposal, she dies. After spending a year in a depression, Anderson impulsively asks a waitress named Katie (Ilsa Fisher) to marry him even though they have never met. When she surprisingly agrees, the two must deal with the reactions of their respective friends and families. The supporting cast includes Joe Pantoliano as Katie's convict father. Michael Ian Black, formerly of The State and Ed, made his directorial debut with this film.

Wedding daze begins with a fight club style flashback to explore the interesting concept which really tricked me into thinking this could be something different from the average romantic comedy we?ve all seen 69 times before but it isn?t. The story is painfully predictable and the ending was outrageous and corny which really let the second half of the film down. It?s a shame because the chemistry between the two main characters is genuinely romantic and watching them play out this impulsive obsession is entertaining. The jokes are a mixed bag, some are really funny and some are cheap immature shots at sexuality which appear closer to the end of the film, nonetheless Wedding Daze is a fun romantic comedy.

From watching the trailer, I thought I wouldn't like this film. However, after watching the film, I was pleasantly surprised by it. I found it very funny and a good film. It kind of reminded me of Heartbreak Kid with Ben Stiller and another Jason Biggs film, Saving Silverman. Biggs and Fisher are great in the film and have a great on screen chemistry. I also thought all of the supporting actors did a great job too, including Joe Pantoliano. I definitely recommend this comedy.

Most of the film is pretty predictable and nothing terribly new is done here, but if you just want to sit back and laugh this is quite an enjoyable flick and works well for a rainy day or as a date movie. Worth seeing.

I am surprised at how much I really liked this movie. Its insane, chaotic, and so funny. Jason Biggs and Isla Fisher had great chemistry. Really brought the laughs. OMG. The two actors that play Jason Biggs parents are just insanely funny. So gross too though. I would be horrified if those were my parents. The funniest line in this movie comes from Joe Pantoliano character who is Isla Fishers father. As he is walking her down the isle he turns to her and says, "Look at me, crying like a jail house bitch." So funny. There is plenty of funny moments like that. Its a great quirky romantic comedy that anyone is sure to enjoy.
