Par H @Parhwy Feb 20 1998 was wild. What a casting trifecta: Heche, Schwimmer and Ford, as well as Temuera Morrison. Whomsoever nailed this together was huffing Y2K memes using Netscape Navigator. It is all-too easy to criticise this film. Directing Schwimmer to not be Schwimmer: fail. Heche and Schwimmer kissing: fail. Beautiful scenery improved by the story and actors: fail. Make Heche and Schwimmer likeable: fail. Make a better film than the Star Wars Christmas Special: fail. Make Ford wear a headset in his aeroplane: fail. This is the first time I have seen this film. I watched it on free-to-air having seen it in the TV guide a few hours before it aired and, honestly, it is the first time I have known of its existence. The two leads were likeable enough, but didn't have much chemistry together so it wasn't believable that they would fall in love. Not one of Harrison Ford's better movies. He is much better as an action movie hero than a romantic lead. Overall, I would say the script and the direction were weak. I wasn't expecting much, but I was hoping for more. It never fully commits to being an adventure, romance, or comedy, which leaves it feeling a bit weightless.
