See more Benjamin G @BxDxGx Jun 14 This movie moves at a faster pace than Diesel’s RX-7 at the start of F&F. While watching it, I kept trying to figure out what is it about this movie that still makes it "watchable," because I don’t feel like I completely wasted my time but can’t say I’d recommend it to anyone. After reading several reviews, it seems that it sort of plucks out various ideas that would interest various people, if not straight up copycatting notable concepts, that then gets mashed into a massive pulp of pop culture that a $90 million budget can at least polish and make look nice with high production quality and big names. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to make sense half the time, which is nice to hear others comment as well (for a minute I thought it was just me) and unfortunately it just doesn’t really embellish aspects that could have made it a more recommendable film. Regardless, it did entertain me and keep me in a positive mood, so that was nice. See more T @RT55756096 May 23 If you took Warhammer 40K Eisenhorn, Beowulf, The Gathering, Hellbalde, the Matrix, Æon Flux, God of War Ragnarok, Harry Poter the Sorcerer's Stone, Constantine, Babylon AD, and Jumper, blended them altogether, you would get this movie. The Priest in the casket is identical to the seance scene in Eisenhorn where they did the exact same thing, even the eight pointed star in this movie on the guys head like c'mon man, really? Im sure there's more. The Giant tree was like Kingdom Under Fire. Its unbelievable how much this movie just straight rips off and makes its own. Its actually impressive the sheer amount of rip offs they packed into this. Bits and pieces, if you are a fan of any of these aforementioned you will see these again and again in this. Like I said, probably more. Its worth a watch, but the rip offs blow my mind. See more Blake- N @PBSAniDom Apr 19 The Last Witch Hunter feels like it’s reaching for a dark, mystical tone similar to stronger films like The Devil Rides Out (1968) and even the psychological intensity of Black Swan, but it never comes close to capturing what made those movies special. Instead, it comes across as a simplified and uneven version of those ideas. Vin Diesel is fine in the lead role, but the script doesn’t give him much depth to work with. The world-building has potential, yet it feels underdeveloped and often relies on familiar fantasy clichés. The story moves along, but it rarely builds real tension or atmosphere. There are a few visually interesting moments, but overall it feels more like a watered-down attempt to copy better films rather than something original or memorable. In the end, it’s a 3/10—watchable at times, but ultimately forgettable and lacking real impact. Vin Diesel did what Vin Diesel does best: play himself in a variety of different roles. Despite Diesel's flat and inorganic line delivery, this movie was incredibly enjoyable to watch. It had amazing visuals, great action scenes, interesting lore, and an intriguing story. I definitely recommend it for action, horror, thriller, and paranormal fans!
