One of the best medical series I've ever seen, a delightful experience. I remember watching Lenox Hill while studying to get into college and already trying to decide either to the medical field or not, and this series showed me that this is really my dream. It is a realistic experience that shows you that doctors aren't gods, but human beings with problems, dreams, requests and have their own lives, doing their best every day to save as many people as possible.

I'm responding to the behavior of a physician in episode 7 of season 1. She judges a young man with sickle cell disease who recently injured his knee to be a drug abuser. She assumes him to be abusing opiates because he had a prescription for #30 Percocet 10 days previously: a prescription for 30 Percocet over 10 days is 3 pills per day. This is an appropriate (or arguably inadequate) dose for chronic pain which by definition this young man suffers from. As a pharmacists, I hate to watch clinicians judge patients unfairly. I have no idea what this young truly went through, but I believe he may have been judged unfairly.

This show is absolutely brilliant and I really hope another season/s are made. It was a very real and honest portrayal of a Hospital.

The most compelling TV I've watched in years.

        Mediocre hospital ad

I think this is one of the most spellbinding shows on television. I admire the patients who let the cameras into their lives during their crises. We share their pain, triumphs, sadness and love. It is raw and painful. But these doctors keep trying their very best to save lives. The downside is the horrific state of medical care in this country where people cannot afford to get life-saving medicines, such as the patient whose insurance company would not pay for her asthma. I loved ER: Trauma in the Emergency Room but it was discontinued but that was a fascinating show of a completely different nature.
