The show isn't as comprehensive in its scope as it might be intending at points, but there's still plenty of fertile storytelling ground where it does focus its attention.

While a deeply moving tribute to those we have lately come to call "heroes," this proves they've been heroes all along. (It was filmed before the pandemic.) A can't-miss beauty.

There are clearly many, many things wrong with the US health system. But there's no question that country is also home to some remarkable health professionals and this deceptively simple documentary provides a terrific showcase for four of them.

Not everything has a happy outcome, but the series is startlingly candid, especially about procedures and choices. Not everyone makes the decision you expect.

Jun 9, 2020 | Full Review…

Without denying flaws in the American medical system, Lenox Hill aims to inspire, and the eight-episode first season ends up more emotionally nourishing than intellectually satisfying - not that there's anything necessarily wrong with that.

Jun 9, 2020 | Full Review…

With an openhearted curiosity about its subjects and a patient, clear eye, the series comes to no conclusions about the way we administer medical care now, but leaves its viewer with ample information to draw his or her own.

I am haunted by Lenox Hill...so mesmerizing...

... probably the most engrossing and affecting long-form documentary I've seen in a while.

We get the human side here. How they feel about patients and their diagnoses or treatments.

The storytelling is clean and fleet, Barash and Shatz presenting everyone who enters the frame as fully dimensional human beings, flawed but striving.

Emotionally gripping, sweet and scary, it shows everything from childbirth to brain surgery.

As a pre med students seeing a more human side of the doctors and how they all cope with the struggles of everyday life, it's awesome. Having minorities represented in this show will inspire much more people to commit to the healthcare system

This show is SOOO GOOD. I'm on episode 8 and so sad that I'm almost finished. I feel like I know the doctors personally by this point. PLEASE renew for a second (and third and fourth) season. This show is real, not like reality TV. It's the real deal. Love it so much
  • Aug 03, 2020
Inspiring and also heartbreaking. Love that the show reveals the difficult behind the scenes that we as patients don't get to see. Love this show! Hopefully there's a second season soon!

Amazing show! I watched this while applying for medical school and studying for my MCAT. Though I was drowning with stress, this show reminded me why I want to be a doctor. I hope to be a neurologist someday.

It was great! Really pulled me in and made me feel like I was experiencing this with them. It's nice to see a hospital show that isn't trying to be over dramatic.
  • Jul 18, 2020
Excellent show. A must see. True compassion from the doctors.

I work at Northwell as a social worker and I enjoyed having a birds eye view of other departments. It is a very emotional series and I did not binge watch this because of that. I have learned from watching and I'm struck mostly by the humanism that is displayed. Very proud to work at Northwell and in healthcare. I hope the series continues with a second season.
