It actually gets the birds right. It's the humans who are hard to identify.

That very rare thing, a movie about teenagers where the characters actually seem like real teenagers, as opposed to mini posing adults.

Audience Reviews for A Birder's Guide To Everything

A sweet and sentimental adventure. There's a lot to love about A Birder's Guide To Everything even if it does feel like a young adult novel adapted into a movie.

Bird enthusiast David Portnoy is stuck in a boring and tense lifestyle with his father, who is getting remarried to a woman he doesn't particularly like. So naturally, he takes his crew of misfit friends and goes into the wilderness searching for a bird that is supposed to be extinct. Along the way he finds love and understanding of many confusing aspects of life. With charming lead characters and a deeper plot than you would initially expect, this indie coming-of-age movie is worth a watch.

Sweet and witty, #abirdersguidetoeverything is a great way to spend an afternoon. With strong performances from McPhee and his crew, as well as a great supporting cast, Birder's is a film about letting go of the past and embracing reality.
