The Invisible Man (2020) Perri Nemiroff Doesn't quite stick the landing story-wise, but still boasts a phenomenal performance from Elisabeth Moss and more proof that Leigh Whannell has a stellar eye for highly creative and effective scares and action.

Dolittle (2020) Perri Nemiroff There's a lot wrong with Dolittle but one of the most shocking of the bunch is that Downey Jr.'s performance doesn't work at all. One might expect him to be well suited to play a lovable jerk, but there's no charm in his rendition of the character.

Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) (2020) Perri Nemiroff Birds of Prey is electric! The style, the humor, the music, the performances, Ewan McGregor, the fight sequences. The more creativity and energy we get like this on the big screen, the better.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019) Perri Nemiroff Rise of Skywalker has a bumpy start but finds its footing and when it does, it flies - especially in the third act.

Jumanji: The Next Level (2019) Perri Nemiroff The action is fun enough but I could watch Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan and Jack Black play with the body swap concept for hours.

El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (2019) Perri Nemiroff An expertly crafted continuation of Jesse's story. It's one riveting sequence after the next with stellar performances and confident work from Vince Gilligan. It's been 6 years since the Breaking Bad finale aired, but El Camino doesn't skip a beat.

Gemini Man (2019) Perri Nemiroff Will Smith (x2) and Mary Elizabeth Winstead make for an engaging lead duo in the middle of a very intriguing scenario, but there are too many half-baked components for Gemini Man to make much of an impression.

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019) Perri Nemiroff The battle between Angelina Jolie and Michelle Pfeiffer is hugely entertaining, but Aurora's storyline is a snooze and the digital effects of the Moors is disastrous, especially compared to the film's winning practical effects.

Zombieland: Double Tap (2019) Perri Nemiroff Zombieland: Double Tap is more of the same, but you know what? It's still super effective. As someone who fell hard for Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita and Little Rock back in 2009, the sequel was well worth the wait.

The Irishman (2019) Perri Nemiroff A highly ambitious crime epic from a dream team delivering standout work all around. De Niro, Pacino & Pesci are phenomenal as is the work of editor Thelma Schoonmaker who makes a story that spans decades and clocks in at a whopping 209 minutes seamless.

Jojo Rabbit (2019) Perri Nemiroff Jojo Rabbit feels like next-level Taika Waititi. The concept needed spot-on work in every single department - it's all there and it comes together beautifully. Lots of laughs with purpose that send you on your way with hope in your heart.

It: Chapter Two (2019) Perri Nemiroff IT Chapter Two isn't as refined as the first, but it's still an excellent ensemble piece, oozing with heart and packed with extremely well-crafted set pieces. Muschietti weaves the young and adult Losers together well, giving the sequel an epic feel.
