Audience Reviews for Castlevania: Season 2

Season 2 introduced Dracula's castle and his squad. This one was longer, with 8 episodes, and the first 5 were just character and conflict building within the castle, as well as the journey from the protagonists. I found this part pretty slow and dragging. However, the last 3 became faster and more explosive. The animation for the fights were awesome, and it was significantly more entertaining than the beginning. Overall, a bit slow start, but the ending compensated with fun action. 7.5/10

Season 1 wasn't really a Season.. it was, rather, a Promise to the audience of good things to come, and Season 2 is the series making good on that Promise. While Season 1 was certainly of good quality, Season 2 surpasses it in almost every conceivable way. The animation is sharper, the stories vary in tone more than before, Alucard, Isaac and Hector are well developed, and while Season 1 ultimately ended when it was getting good, Season 2 ends on an intense, climactic and even devastatingly emotional 3-parter, the middle part of these three actually scoring on IMDB's "Highest Rated Episodes" listing, and for good reason. The second-to-last episode, 'For Love', starts off with a solid action sequence, then segways into an EXCELLENT action sequence, and then climaxes with a surprisingly borderline tear-jerking moment that ends the conflict between our heroes and the villain. The final episode is ultimately an emotional and effective Epilogue to the story that both Seasons told; a daring move but one that I personally feel paid off. Now, the Season is not perfect - there are several stories that just act as self-contained vignettes of their own while the Story Proper is put on hold, and while I immensely enjoyed 'Last Spell', an episode dedicated purely to Scheming and Flashback Sequences, I can see how it might be a bit boring for general audiences. However, what works works great, and very little of the show feels like a waste of time or even a waste of potential. Very strongly recommended.

I really loooove this series, the animation is FLAWLESS as always, it has action, drama, sarcastic humor, complex characters, and some cute friendship and romance. So, I recommend this to everyone <3.

    Absolutely beautiful

Wonderful. Continuing immediately from the end of season 1 the story follow on with the 2 separate factions before converging the main cast for a spectacular season finale. Far more time placed on the Vampire arc than the heroes which is good, they needed some fleshing out, and to be honest the thing i recall most about the heroes up to the last few episodes is mostly that they really don't seem to eat (long weekend at the library does not thrill most)

Consider this a review of seasons 1 and 2, mostly because I didn't notice that season 1 had ended when I started season 2. Fantastic, no complaints especially with the handling of Dracula and Alucard (very believable).
