News & Interviews for Castlevania: Season 2
Absolutely worth watching, whether you've loved the games for years, or you simply have a thirst for brutal action that comes with a heaping helping of cheesy gore on the side.
While most of season 2 is all this, West Wing / House Of Cards styled political drama in Dracula's court, the final two episodes are epic battle sequences!
While not the perfect season, it certainly delivers on both action and slick, smart writing, somehow doubling down on the "animated Game of Thrones" comparison with thickening plots, intrigue, and a complex cast of characters, both old and new.
Castlevania's second season may occasionally become too slow for some, but the heights that it hits are so high that it's hard to begrudge it for its lethargic pacing.
If you're a fan of the source material then Castlevania is the perfect blend of faithful and inventive that makes for a fun viewing experience, complete with Easter eggs and a genuine love of the games.
It is atmospheric and haunting in its environments and its musical score, and it's still crafted with a lot of love for its source material.
I'm fairly sure I'd die for Carmilla at this point, which might be a little odd since her goal is to enslave humanity and basically keep them as chew toys and juice boxes, but it's hard to deny both her brilliance and skill.
Overall this second season marks a big evolution for the series-not in tone or style, but in scope and pacing.
All told the expanded episode count does the series more favors than faults, and the pieces seem to be aligned by the end of episode six for some much-needed payoff.
Audience Reviews for Castlevania: Season 2
2d agoWonderful. Continuing immediately from the end of season 1 the story follow on with the 2 separate factions before converging the main cast for a spectacular season finale. Far more time placed on the Vampire arc than the heroes which is good, they needed some fleshing out, and to be honest the thing i recall most about the heroes up to the last few episodes is mostly that they really don't seem to eat (long weekend at the library does not thrill most)
Apr 30, 2021Season 2 was where this series started to light off.
Apr 28, 2021the fight animation in this season is insane! money was spent!
Mar 24, 2021This series is just so good. It has everything.
Feb 28, 2021Consider this a review of seasons 1 and 2, mostly because I didn't notice that season 1 had ended when I started season 2. Fantastic, no complaints especially with the handling of Dracula and Alucard (very believable).
Dec 29, 2020This season is AMAZING!!! I don't want to spoil where this season lands but the climatic fight and resolution is great. A MUST SEE!!!
Nov 12, 2020Leftist nonsens in what could've been an awesome series.
Oct 06, 2020Castlevania Season 2 did much to recapture the brilliance of season 1, now with a higher episode count, an increase in scale and an incredible arc for the series introducing several new interesting characters who I genuinely found myself caring about and their outcomes, not to mention how they grew and will continue to grow in the future. Isaac and Hector particularly were brilliant additions to the shows cast. Season 2 has quite a bit more politics etc involved than season 1 but still delivers the exciting action, while admittedly more sparsely, with the same finesse and enough to keep me on my toes for the next one. 10/10
Sep 23, 2020Fucking amazing, and that's it. Increadibly fun to watch and amazing fights.
Sep 11, 2020I couldn't finish this season. It paints Christianity in such a horrific way. While bad people did things in the name of Jesus, that is not what the Bible teaches. Nonetheless, this series would have you believe that Christianity is pure evil when it is anything but.
